Community Service
Dancers at South Metro Dance Academy participate in several
community service activities throughout the dance season.

Here are some of the projects we've completed so far:
Meals on Wheels - SMDA competition dancers made holiday candy
treat jars to donate to the Lakeville Senior Centers as a part of the Meals
on Wheels food donation program.

Blankets Made of Love - SMDA All Stars made fleece blankets to
hand-deliver to children in local hospitals that are suffering from terminal
illnesses such as cancer.

Letters to the Troops - At our first annual banquet, dancers took time
out to write thank-you letters to the men and women serving our country in
the Armed Forces. Nearly 100 letters were sent to the troops!

Fall Food and Paper Product Drive - Each fall, SMDA dancers
collect non-perishable food items and paper products to donate to
the local Community Action Council.
Thank you for your donations!!

Humane Society Blankets - SMDA Competitive Dancers made fleece
blankets to donate to the Minnesota Valley Humane Society. These blankets
are used in the kennels of homeless dogs and cats to keep them warm over
the winter months!
